BOONEDOCKING AT OUR FARM,  (sorry no electricity for majority)

(Generators use is ok)

WE DO HAVE WATER, AND A DUMP STATION.

Update:  We now have 2- 50 amp boxes, & 2 – 30 amp boxes.

If you don’t have a generator, and need electricity let us know.

First come first serve basis.

Another Idea:  If you’d rather there is a State Park (w/Electricity) just 8 miles south of our farm.  Park your camper there, and socialize with the group at our farm.

(We recommend campsites in the East campground lower level starting at about site 7-25 are beautiful facing west to the lake and sunset.  The lake is on average 100 yards from the campsites.)

Remember everyone is Welcome to come to the Event early, or stay late if you would like.  Please let us know if this is your plan.

We hope our garden will be in full bloom when all arrive.  We hope to have a garden fresh picnic of all sorts of good Iowa Grown Vegetables.  Maybe a steak on the grille.

Bring your lawn chair.

This is a social gathering.

We will share Evening Potlucks.

Because of Covid-19, we the Wagon Masters request that if you have been around anyone who has had Covid-19, or presented symptoms of the flu, or a cold we ask for everyone’s safety that you stay home.

For those who attend this Event we ask that everyone refrain from hugs.  We will have hand sanitizers placed here & there.  When we do pot lucks, one person will serve everyone at our normal buffet.  During table games, we will ask everyone to hand sanitize before we sit down and after games.  With all the Distilleries in the Midwest making Moonshine hand sanitizers now a days we shouldn’t have a problem keeping clean.  Just keep clear of the campfire.  Whoosshh!!!

Activities:

-We have a Pistol range.  If people wish we will shoot some targets one afternoon.  (bring your own pistol, ammo, & hearing protection.

-Sit around the campfire

-Give you a tour of the farm, & fields

-Give you a ride in our Tractor, or combine.

-Take our Polaris ranger side by side for a ride

-Watch a movie on the side of the barn

-Play some boccie ball

-Play some table and card game.

-Enjoy a beautiful Iowa sunrise, or sunset.

Sites near by:

Only 20 minutes from our home is a Danish Community.  with a windmill museum shipped here to Iowa in the 1970’s from Holland.  Then reassembled, and in running order.  If your lucky you can observe them grinding flour, or take a tour of their museum, and check out the other shops in town.

On Saturday evening if there is an interest.  We have Dirt track Stock car races at the Shelby County Speedway, in Harlan, Iowa we can go observe.  Bring your ear plugs.

We can recommend a great place to eat in our local town.

Omaha is an hour away.  Below are a few things to see there.

Omaha zoo

Lauritzen Gardens

Joslyn Art Meuseum

Durham Western Heritage Museum

Union Pacific Rail Road Museum

Steamboat Bertrand/Desoto Bend National Wildlife Refuge
